Leeds Road HUDDERSFIELD
Following the fire at Valley Parade BRADFORD CITY spent season 1985/86 playing home games at Elland Road, Leeds Road, or Odsall Stadium. For the visit of Middlesbrough’s they made use of Huddersfield’s ground at the time.
Maine Road MANCHESTER CITY
Also 3 games v MANCHESTER UNITED, Old Trafford suffered bomb damage during the Second World War so Manchester United shared Manchester City’s ground for 3 seasons.
St.James’ Park NEWCASTLE UNITED
Also 1 game v SUNDERLAND, Roker Park closed following crowd trouble (1902/03)

When recovering from the Liquidation Order in 1986 and there being no certainty that Ayresome Park would be available the opening fixture of season 1986/87, at home to Port Vale, was switched to Hartlepool’s ground.

Miscellaneous Items of Interest
The Official Opening of St.Andrews Birmingham was on 26th.December 1906 for a Division One game with Middlesbrough.
Middlesbrough have played Port Vale on 7 grounds. Linthorpe Road, Ayresome Park, Victoria Ground (Hartlepool), Cellnet Riverside Stadium, and at 3 locations in The Potteries
Although QPR have played on the greatest number of home grounds all QPR v Middlesbrough games in the capital have been at Loftus Road.
Middlesbrough’s game at Walsall in April 1901 was played at West Bromwich Road. Walsall started that season at Hillary Street (later named Fellows Park) but experienced financial problems and were forced to revert to playing their matches on a former ground when they were unable to pay the rent at Hillary Street.
